بعد ما حدثت قصة طويلة معا لعبه Metal Gear Solid: Rising وألغائها بدأ كوجيما بكتمان الأمر لكي يجد حل
ولكنهم قاموا بزيارة لأستيديو بلاتينيوم جيمز وقدموا فكرة اللعبه لبلاتنيوم ووافقوا بأستلام زمام الأمور وبدأوا من الصفر
طبعاً تم تغير أحداث القصة بعدما كانت بين MGS2 و MGS4 جعلوها بعد أحداث MGS4 بأربع سنوات أي في عام 2018
طبعاً يعود بطلنا رايدن من جديد ليستلم البطوله بدلاً من بطلنا الأسطوري سوليد سنيك وهذه المره بدلاً عن التجسس والتخفي
